Zoran Corporation

The Zoran Corporation was founded in 1983 by Levy Gerzberg and focused on the development of digital signal processing. Currently, the company manufactures microchips that are used among other things in DVD players, recorders, HDTV televisions and digital cameras.

The company is in Silicon Valley, Haifa (Israel ) and Asia resident.

The name Zoran derives from the Hebrew word for silicon.

1985 had in the opening credits of the James Bond film A View to death because of the similarity of Zoran and Max Zorin, the fact played by Christopher Walken villain, a notice will appear that there is no connection between Zoran and the fictional company of Max Zorin which also manufactures microchips.

In 2003, Zoran hardware manufacturer Oak Technology. 2011 Zoran was taken over by the British CSR plc.
