Obedska bara

Obedska bara is a nature reserve in the province of Vojvodina in Serbia. It is a marsh and woodland which extends along the Sava about 30 km west of Belgrade an area of ​​175,000 hectares. It is also one of the oldest nature reserves in Serbia, founded it was 1874. Here you will find over 220 bird species, 50 mammal species, 13 aquatic species, 11 amphibian species, 16 fish species, 180 species of fungi and some moss species. This nature reserve is thus leading to biodiversity in the Pannonian Basin. Due to these natural resources Obedska bara is also regarded internationally and was also nominated for the list of UNESCO World Natural Heritage.
