Obelisco de Buenos Aires

The Obelisk of Buenos Aires is a 1936 built 67 meter high monument in the city of Buenos Aires.

The obelisk was erected in May 1936 to mark the 400 -year-old city's founding anniversary. It is located in the Plaza de la República. It was designed by Alberto Prebisch and built in less than four weeks. It is located on the site of the 1773 built church of San Nicolás, which was demolished, as 1936 began the construction of the Avenida 9 de Julio. The obelisk is walkable, 206 steps lead to the top, where you can by four window has a view.
