Alberto Prebisch

Alberto Prebisch ( born 1 February 1899 in Tucumán, † October 13, 1970 in Buenos Aires ) was an Argentine architect and politician. From June 26 1962 to October 12, 1963 he was mayor of the capital, Buenos Aires.

Life

Alberto Prebisch was born in Tucumán, the son of German settlers. The economist Raúl Prebisch 's his brother. He studied architecture at the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1921 and made its conclusion. His first major design was the central market in Tucumán of 1924. Prebisch also from the Obelisk and the Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires and the Gran Rex theater in Rosario originate. In addition, he has designed private homes, apartment and office buildings and shops.

In 1955 he was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at his former university. After a spell as interim mayor of Buenos Aires, he was in 1968 again Dean. 1970 Prebisch was appointed director of the National Academy of Fine Arts, and died only months later, at the age of 71 years, in Buenos Aires.
