Obelisk of Montevideo

The Obelisco a los Constituyentes de 1830 is a dedicated on August 25, 1938 40 meters tall monument in the Uruguayan capital, Montevideo. He recalls the 1830 came into force first constitution of the State of Uruguay.

The obelisk is located on the east side of Bulevar Artigas directly across from the end of the Avenida 18 de Julio and to that of the Avenida Dr. Luis Morquio on the border of Parque Batlle Barrios and Tres Cruces. It is made of bronze and granite, and was created by the Uruguayan sculptor José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín. Since 1976 he has been classified as Monumento Histórico Nacional.
