Obliquus capitis inferior muscle

The abdominal capitis inferior ( Latin for "lower oblique muscle head ", in animals as "rear oblique muscle head " - abdominal capitis caudalis - ) is an skeletal muscle in the neck and is located on the back of the second head joint. He draws from the spinous process of the axis to the atlas wings ( lateral mass ).

He is one of the five, belonging to the so-called location- standing back muscles short neck muscles, which also still rectus capitis posterior major, rectus capitis posterior minor, musculus obliquus capitis superior and rectus capitis lateralis belong.
