Ochyroceratidae

Ochyroceratidae is a family of spiders. This family includes 146 species in 13 genera sechsäugige in the superfamily of Leptonetoidea. They are widespread in the tropics ( Africa, Caribbean, Asia, Indo -Pacific ), where they inhabit the litter layer of forests. In Central Europe, no species of the family are at home. They weave small networks to Lake leaves, horse mackerel and branches and typically carry Eisäcke with the chelicerae around with them until they hatch.

At least one species in the genus Theotima (which is only 0.9 mm long T. minutissima ) proved to be parthenogenetic; that is, females are sometimes able to reproduce unisexual ( without fertilization by a male).
