The Oelzequelle
The Oelze is a ten- kilometer long left tributary of the Schwarza in the Thuringian Slate Mountains.
Geography
The source of Oelze is located 758 m above sea level. NN 500 m east of Kahlert, a hamlet belonging to Neustadt am Rennsteig. In its upper reaches the Oelze flows in an arc around the 737 m above sea level. NN high mountain redhead by the Bettelmannstal in which she feeds the Altenfelder forest pool. In its further course it flows through a valley in the Old Town area. On the outskirts of the Old field towards Katzhütte the Reischelbach opens into the Oelze. Below the Old field stream flows in a southeasterly direction on through the Oelzetal, where between 2007 and 2010 the Oelzetalbrücke the New Erfurt - plane field was, for Lieutenant mill. Here ends the Grundbach in the Oelze. The Oelze finally flows into Oelze, in the municipality of Katzhütte in the Schwarza.
