Object file format called a very simple data format that describes a system composed of arbitrary polygons polyhedra and is widely used by academic programs that work with 3D data. The file extension for these files is frequent. Off

Construction

A file in the object file format is a text file in ASCII encoding. All numerical values are separated by spaces, as the decimal separator is a dot.

The first line of the file consists only of the keyword OFF. The second line contains three integers for the number of vertices, faces and edges of the polyhedron. The number of edges may be ignored by processing programs as it is uniquely determined by the number of corners and surfaces.

The following lines describe one vertex by its three Cartesian coordinates x, y and z, the individual vertices are not explicitly indicated, implicitly, the points are numbered according to their order of zero.

On the enumeration of the vertices still follows one line for each area. Here, the number of vertices of the area is given first, and then lists the indices of the vertices.
