Olaf Holetschek

Olaf Holetschek ( born July 12, 1968 in Saalfeld / Saale ) is a former German football player and current coach.

Player

As a teenager, joined Olaf Holetschek 1981 by the ESR steel Maxhiitte to FC Carl Zeiss Jena and was first used in 1987 in the GDR Oberliga. In the 1988/89 season he played in BSG Jena glassworks and won with them the district championship Gera. In 1989 he moved back to FC Carl Zeiss, where he became a regular player. In the last season of the GDR Oberliga 1990/91, he finished with Jena sixth place and qualified by the first all-German 2nd Bundesliga. 1993/94 he went with Jena in the Oberliga from, and managed the direct resurgence. 1997/98 occupied Jena again into the relegation zone. Then Holetschek left the Thuringian and went for two seasons for Bundesliga Hansa Rostock. His Bundesliga debut he gave on the second matchday of the 1998/99 season home game against VfL Wolfsburg. In total he played 37 Bundesliga games and scored one goal. He then played a season at Chemnitz FC in the second league. In 2001 he returned to Jena in the Oberliga West, where he finished after the 2004/ 05 season with the rise in the Regionalliga his playing career.

Overall, Olaf Holetschek completed 413 appearances for Carl Zeiss and scored 66 goals. 47 times ( four goals) he stood in the DDR - Oberliga in the square, 37 times (one goal ) in the 1st Bundesliga and 224 times (31 goals) in the second league.

Sports Director / Trainer

Directly after the end of his playing career took Holetschek the post of sporting director of FC Carl Zeiss Jena. In his first year Jena managed promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. After Jena wintered in the first year on a second division relegation zone and lost the first two games of the season, Holetschek was relieved of his post.

When Frank Neubarth took over as coach in Jena in April 2007, Olaf Holetschek worked as an assistant coach. Even under Neubarth successor Valdas Ivanauskas he remained in office. In January 2008, took over as coach Henning Bürger and opted for another assistant coach. He then directs the training times of the Jena A-Juniors team. Besides his work as assistant coach of the U19 from FC Carl Zeiss Jena, he was assistant coach of the second team. In November 2011 he left for FC Carl Zeiss Jena and trained up to the start of the 2012/13 season, the U -17 Junior RB Leipzig. Since his separation he is assistant coach of the U23 team RB Leipzig (Saxony league).
