Olaf Maninger

Olaf Maninger ( born October 16, 1964 in Recklinghausen ) is a German cellist.

Olaf Maninger began in 1978 his studies with Janos Starker and sat her from 1985 to 1991 with Boris Pergamenschikow continued. He arrived in 1994 as a cellist with the Berlin Philharmonic, which he is principal cellist since 1996.

From 1997 to 2002 Maninger was managing director of the Berlin Philharmonic GbR. Since the founding of the Berlin Philharmonic Foundation in 2002, he has held this role as Media Board further and is also a member of the foundation board. He was instrumental in the design of the Digital Concert Hall, and since 2008 CEO of Berlin Phil Media GmbH. He is also a member of the ensemble The 12 Cellists of the Berlin Philharmonic.
