Oldřich Daněk

Oldrich Danek ( born January 16, 1927 in Ostrava; † 3 September 2000 in Prague) was a Czech playwright, writer, director and screenwriter.

Life

After graduating from high school in Ostrava, he studied at the DAMU. During his studies, in 1945, he played in Petra - Bezruče Theatre ( Divadlo Petra Bezruče ) in Ostrava. After graduating, he became a director on Klicperovo Divadlo in Hradec Králové. Since 1954 he was artistic director of the theater FX Šaldy in Liberec. 1957 began working with the Barrandov Film Studios, first as a screenwriter and later as a director. Since 1973 he began to write full-time.

His dramas have the morale to the main topic, the author is always on the side of the classic moral principles. In addition to full-length feature films, he also filmed TV series. For the radio, he wrote some radio plays.
