Oldřich Machala

Oldrich Machala (born 4 August 1963 Bruntál ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach.

Player

Oldrich Machala played since the age of seven for TJ Moravian Beroun, 17 years old, he moved to Sigma Olomouc. After just one season he went to Tabor to there to do his military service. 1984 returned the defender back to Olomouc, where he became one of the major players and an icon of fans.

In 1986, he was the debut of Sigma Olomouc on a European level, 1990/91 the team took third place, until then best finish in club history. In seven seasons Machala had missed just twelve games and came on 198 missions. In the summer of 1991 he moved to FC Hansa Rostock in the Bundesliga, for whom he played 15 games. After half a year he moved on to VfB Oldenburg in the 2nd Bundesliga, for whom he completed 49 games in one and a half years, although he managed to score a goal.

In 1993 he returned to Sigma Olomouc back with him, the team played in 1996 for the title with, but in the end was only second. By 2000, he had only two games, he was in 195 matches in a row on the court. In the season 2000/ 01 he was only on call and still came to nine games.

In the first Czechoslovak and Czech league Machala played 415 games, all of them for Sigma Olomouc.

In the Czech national Oldrich Machala played only once. It was an honor statement to a player who had done a lot in Czech football. The end of 1996, Machala was already 33 years old, him coach Dušan Uhrin took on the trip to Casablanca, where the Czech team played at the King Hassan II Trophy. On December 11, 1996, he was a substitute in the match against Nigeria, which ended 2-1 in the final minute for René Wagner.

Coach

In the 2001 /02 season Machala took over the coach position in the B- team of Sigma Olmouc. In October 2001, he was also an assistant coach for the A- team. In 2002, Machala to third division side SK Hranice, for whom he worked for three years. In 2005 he took the second division FK Kunovice, in which he signed a one year contract. In the summer of 2006, he was briefly without commitment, before the FC Dosta Bystrc - Kníničky took over in the second Czech league on 12 September 2006. In the 2007 /08 season Machala coached third division SK Lipová. In the season 2008/ 09 he coached the second division FC Hradec Králové. For the 2009/10 season Machala took over the third division Fotbal Frýdek- Místek before he left as head coach for the first HFK Olomouc in May 2011.
