Ole Hallesby

Ole Kristian Hallesby (* August 5, 1879 in Aremark, † November 22, 1961 in Oslo) was a Norwegian revivalist preacher and Professor of Systematic Theology in Oslo, the beyond the borders of Norway became widely known. He comes from a farming family.

As a professed Christian, he was imprisoned from 1943 to 1945 in the concentration camp Grini. He participated in the Norwegian revivalist movement and pioneered a Christian school program. As a professor at the Theological Faculty Oslo municipality he campaigned for the Bible and the Christian faith. Many of his 64 books have been translated into German and reprinted again and again until today.
