Oleg Tabakov

Oleg Pavlovich Tabakow (Russian Олег Павлович Табаков, scientific transliteration Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov; born August 17, 1935 in Saratov ) is one of the most renowned Russian film and theater personalities of the present and a People's Artist of the USSR. Since 2000 he has directed the Chekhov Art Theater in Moscow.

Tabakow studied at the Moscow Theatre School. After graduating was one of the founders of the Sovremennik Theater, which he headed from 1971 to 1982, before joining the Chekhov Art Theater.
