Olimpijka

Olimpijka is the name for a planned in the 1970s highway from Berlin to Moscow.

One of the reasons that led to the decision to build, was the temporal approach of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow.

Up to this point, the part of Wrzesińska should be completed by Warsaw. Work began on the sections Wrzesińska - Konin and Nieborów -Warsaw, but it was only the former ends, the rest of the project was not realized. 2010-2012 the A2 motorway was built on the same route as the proposed Olimpijka.

Wrzesińska section Konin -

The construction of this section was very slow and its first section Wrzesińska - Slugocin (34 km ) in 1985 was ready. By 1989, the highway was extended by 14 kilometers to Konin.

These cuts are in this state of the A2 motorway.

Section Nieborów -Warsaw

This fragment of Olimpijka was never completed and realized only in small parts, for example, some viaducts, bridges and underpasses.

One of the most interesting objects were rows of columns, which should carry a viaduct over the planned northern line of central railway main line ( CMK ) to Gdansk ( this railway line has also never realized). All properties were demolished with the construction of the motorway section of the A2 from Lodz to Warsaw in July 2010.

The section Bolimów - Wiskitki was listed on some maps as a motorway under construction and has even led to some as existing road.
