Oliver Axnick

Oliver Axnick ( born May 17, 1970 in Füssen) is a former German curling player. Axnick is two time European champion and seven-time German champion.

Career

With the curling Axnick began at the age of 16 years. Since 1992, he joined the team of Andreas Kapp at Curling Club feet with which he became one of the most successful German curling players.

His first track he celebrated in 1992 at the European Championships in Perth, Scotland. He repeated at the Championships in Fussen 1997 This success. At World Championships Axnick reached third three times ( 1994, 1995, 2005) and in 1997 in Bern Vice World Champion. Axnick participated in the Winter Olympic Games in 2006 and 1998, but could not each qualify for the semifinals.

At the national level Axnick secured with the curling club feet seven German league title: 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2005.

After Axnick 2006 retired from active curling sport, he now supports the German curling as national coach. He was at the 2007 World Championships in Edmonton yet as an assistant coach for the team - Kapp World Cup champions and the German team to train up to 2010, the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
