Oliver Dragojević

Oliver Dragojević ( born December 7, 1947 in Vela Luka, Yugoslavia, now Croatia) is a Croatian musician.

Life

The first encounter with the music he had in his 5 years of age, when he received from his father a harmonica, with which he in his street and the travelers entertained the children on the ferry Vela Luka - Split. Oliver Dragojević is a graduate of the School in Split (Croatia). There he learned first song, then clarinet and guitar. He had his first public appearance in 1961 at the Children's Festival in Split with the song Baloni. In 1963, he is the lead singer and keyboardist of the band Batali. With the song Yesterday by the Beatles, he won a statewide amateur singer contest.

His professional career began in 1967 with a performance at the Festival of Split ( Splitski festival ). With the song " Picaferaj " by Zdenko Runjić he reached not the final round, but he took it in his standard repertoire to success. After the success at the festivals Split '67 to '72 Split Oliver collected with appearances in Western European Clubs experience for his later interpretations. After a short episode with the group Dubrovački Trubaduri and a session with the Split superstar band " More" in 1974, he rejoined the group " Batali " to. With the single " Ça Ce mi Copacabana " In 1974, he landed at No. 1 on the charts, which he renewed the collaboration with Zdenko Runjić and whose song " Galeb i ja " at Split Festival 1975 international breakthrough.
