Olivier Père

Olivier Père ( born March 17, 1971 in Marseille ) is a French film critic. From 2009 to 2012, he was artistic director of the International Film Festival of Locarno.

Life

Olivier Père attended the Lycée Claude Fauriel in Saint- Étienne and studied Humanities at the University of La Sorbonne (Paris IV). After changing 1995 Cinémathèque française, he soon became program director and organized numerous tributes and theme cycles.

Pere was head of the Directors' Fortnight, the independent program section of the International Film Festival of Cannes. From 1997 he worked as a film critic for the magazine Les Inrockuptibles culture.

From September 2009, Père worked as artistic director of the International Film Festival of Locarno. End of August 2012 he gave three years to the ministry to take up the beginning of November the post of general director of Arte France Cinéma.
