Olléléwa (also: Olléléoua ) is a rural municipality in the department of Tanout in Niger.

Geography

Olléléwa lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Gangara the northwest, Tanout in the northeast, WAME in the east, in the southeast Dakoussa, Tirmini in the south and Falenko in the southwest. The municipality is divided into 89 administrative villages, 64 traditional villages, 213 hamlets, a warehouse and a water source. The main town of the country church is the administrative village Olléléwa.

History

In Olléléwa a traditional seat of power is located (French: chefferie traditionnal ) of the Tuareg, which dates back to the 17th century, when settled here Tuareg from the Aïr. The boss of Olléléwa is subordinate to the Sultan of Zinder. The German explorer Heinrich Barth entered the place on 6 January 1851. Especially remote pasture practice the Fulani subgroups Katchinanko'en, Oudah'en and Wodaabe and the Tuareg subgroups Imouzgou and Iwillimiden. Economy and infrastructure
