Olsok

Olsok ( from Old Norse: ólafsvaka ≈ Olaf Guard) is a name for the memorial and holiday July 29, 1030, the anniversary of the death of the Norwegian king Olav the Holy in the Battle of Stiklestad.

Olav applicable in Norway as the conveyor of Christianity, it retained its importance as his vigils after the Reformation. His day is called in the Faroe Islands as an official holiday Ólavsøka and Denmark Olav; committed in Sweden, only in a few areas such as Härjedalen, his name is Olof or Olsmässa.
