Omar Bakri Muhammad

Omar Bakri Mohammed, usually referred to simply as Omar Bakri (born 1958 in Syria) is a Sunni Islamist fundamentalist and agitator.

A native of Syria Bakri joined early Sunni Muslim brothers, in 1982, an uprising against the Shia Alawite -dominated Ba'ath government dared, which was bloodily suppressed. He had to leave the country and settled finally after several stations in the 1980s in London where he created an Islamist center with comrades in Finsbury district.
