Omar & the Howlers

Omar & the Howlers are a blues band, founded in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1973, which moved to Austin, Texas later. Founded they were the guitarist and singer Kent Dykes.

Band History

The band was formed in 1973 from 1950 in McComb, Mississippi -born guitarist " Omar " Kent Dykes. They were a popular party band, playing "R & B and even occasionally polkas and western swing songs ". At this time, Dykes was also the name Omar and developed his penchant for blues.
