OmegaT

OmegaT is a free utility for computer- assisted translation (CAT ) for professional translators. OmegaT is written in Java (Java ≥ 1.5 required) and is distributed as free software in the source code under the GNU General Public License ( GPL). The program interface is available in 27 languages.

Features

The program has all the standard features of CAT programs: two-column work sheets on which source texts sets ( in segments ) will be transmitted into the target language, both parts are then in a translation memory (Translation Memory); Glossaries, in which ( fuzzy search) you can search for single words or phrases, a spell checker Hunspell means and configurable ( using regular expressions ) Text segmentation. The translation memory is applied separately for each language direction and stored in a file format that the general TMX exchange format is very similar, are separated text files with tab characters used for glossaries ( - no TBX ). Translation memories are filled with every new translation continues, bringing the number of translations proposed increases, from which the translator can select when using a new translation. A special feature of Omega T is that translators can be queried as suggestions when compiling and machine translations of Internet translation service Google.

The supported file formats, the formatting of the original documents are maintained - including OpenDocument, (X ) HTML, Office Open XML, XLIFF, GNU gettext .po files ( Portable Object ) and DocBook - for other formats, this is due to conversion programs of third party (such as the Okapi Framework, the Translate Toolkit and po4a ) possible.
