Omonville-la-Petite

Omonville- la -Petite is a commune of 140 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Manche in Basse-Normandie region. It belongs to Arrondissement Cherbourg, the District of Beaumont -Hague and the Local Government Association, La Hague.

The inhabitants of the Hague call this community traditionally Saint -Martin - after the name of the former church and to distinguish them from Omonville- la -Rogue to distinguish.

Geography

The community is located near the northwestern tip ( Cap de la Hague ) of the Cotentin Peninsula, which extends far into the English Channel into it. Cherbourg- Octeville, the next largest city, is located about 25 kilometers from Omonville.

The municipality owns a significant portion of second homes and two hotels. Your economic resources come mainly from the few kilometers south reprocessing plant at La Hague, whose area expands to the regions of neighboring communities adjacent Omonville. According to data from French Ministry of Industry from 2007 Omonville- la -Petite is the municipality with the highest per capita income in France ( € 32,654.77 ).
