One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer

One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer is a Blue song written by Rudy Toombs. The song was written for Amos Milburn and published in 1953. Was covered the song under another of John Lee Hooker (Album: The Real Folk Blues - 1966) and George Thorogood (Album: George Thorogood and the Destroyers - 1977). Many of the versions, including the version of Amos Milburn, bear the title One Scotch, One Bourbon, One Beer.

The text is an exhortation to the bartender to bring the drinks ordered by the singer. In Thorogoods version of the song with another song Hookers is connected ( House Rent Boogie ), which explains why he is sitting in the bar. The singer has lost his job and his home and wants to comfort her in the bar with the ordered drinks.
