One Wall Centre

The One Wall Centre is the second tallest building in the Canadian city of Vancouver. It is 150 meters high and has 48 floors, the address is 1088 Burrard Street. The building was completed in 2001, the architectural firm responsible Busby and Associates Architects received in the same year the Emporis Skyscraper Award for the best new skyscraper in terms of design and functionality.

The lower 27 floors are a hotel, the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Sheraton chain with 347 rooms ( together with the adjacent building 765 rooms). The floors 28 to 30 belong to another hotel, the Club Intrawest Resort. The top 17 floors are occupied by condominiums.

The foundation reaches 23 meters into the ground as deep as in any other building in Vancouver. To compensate for the movement of the building in high winds, the One Wall Centre has a damping system on the top floor. This consists of two water tanks each with 227,000 liters.

By January 2009 was the One Wall Centre Vancouver's tallest building and was then replaced by the 51 meter high Living Shangri -La.
