Onex Corporation

Onex Corporation is a Canadian company based in Toronto.

The company owns interests in various companies, especially the North American healthcare company, Canadian cinema operators and North American aerospace companies. The company was founded by Gerry Schwartz, who currently holds the majority in the company.

Current business activities

In January 2007, Onex Corporation acquired jointly with Goldman Sachs, the company Raytheon Aircraft Company Raytheon and molds it into the company Hawker Beechcraft. In June 2007, General Motors sold the company Allison Transmission to the financial investors Carlyle Group and Onex Corporation. Together with the Canadian pension funds was adopted in 2010 Tomkins, but Onex keeps doing only 14% of the shares. In September 2012, the Onex Corporation took over the engineering group Krauss -Maffei of the investee Madison Capital Partners of Chicago.
