Ong Ka Ting

Dato ' Seri Ong Ka Ting (黄 家 定/ Huang Jiading, * November 15, 1956 in Perak ) was the president of the Malaysian Chinese Association and Minister of Housing and county government in Malaysia.

In 1980 he finished his studies in mathematics and chemistry at the University of Malaya ( Universiti Malaya). He began his career as a teacher at a Catholic school in Petaling Jaya from 1981 to 1984.

Ong is married to Datin Seri Wendy Chong Siew Mei and has two children, En Li and Xing Yang.

From 1986 to 1990 Ong was political secretary in the Ministry of Transport. On 26 October 1990 he was parliamentary secretary in the Ministry of Health, on 25 February 1991 Deputy Ministry of the Interior and on 3 May 1993 Minister in the same Ministry. From 1999 to 2008 he headed the Ministry of Housing and county government.
