Onno Hoes

Onno Hoes ( born June 5, 1961 in Leiden) is a Dutch politician. He is a member of the VVD, People's Party for Freedom and Democracy. Since 1 November 2010, he is the current mayor of Maastricht. Previously, he was head of department for environmental issues in the management of the Dutch province of North Brabant.

Curriculum vitae

Onno Hoes was born in 1961 in Leiden and but grew up in the southern province of North Brabant. Hoes ' mother was eight years a member of the municipal council of the provincial capital of ' s- Hertogenbosch, his father was also active VVD member and his grandfather was a municipal councilor and deputy mayor in Sint- Michielsgestel.

Since the early seventies, Hoes was committed to the VVD, first in the youth organization ( Jongeren Organisatie Vrijheid en Démocratie, JOVD ).
