Sand Lotwurz ( Onosma arenaria subsp. Arenaria )

The Lotwurzen ( Onosma ) are a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae ( Boraginaceae ). They are found in Europe and Asia.

Description

Lotwurz species are one, two or perennial herbaceous plants that are hairy bristly. The leaves are alternate.

The flowers are in terminal, usually branched, provided with bracts cymes. The calyx is divided almost to the base and often increases after flowering. The crown is colored yellow, whitish or purpurlich, tubular occupied by tubular - bell-shaped, with five short, protruding or folded corners. Inside the crown no scales are formed, but near the base is an annulus. The stamens are included in the crown or protrude out of her. The stamens put on at about half the height of the crown. The anthers are provided on the base arrow-shaped at the top usually with a protruding connective. The style stands out from the crown, the scar is capitate to two columns.

The Klaus fruit decays into four fruits of which usually stunted part. They are ovate or triangular, pointed or beaked, erect, smooth or warty and have a triangular, flat ground.
