Onslow Stevens

Onslow Ford Stevenson ( born March 29, 1902 in Los Angeles, California, † January 5, 1977 in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, California ) was an American actor and nonfiction author.

Life

Onslow Ford Stevenson is the son of actor Houseley Stevenson and older brother of actor Housely Stevenson junior and costume designer Edward Stevenson. From the mid- 1920s, he worked with his family at the Pasadena Community Playhouse, where he debuted at the theater. He then moved to New York City, where he played on Broadway. His film debut was in the appeared in 1931 and directed by Richard Boleslawski Drama The Gay Diplomat in a small supporting role as on the side of Betty Compson and Purnell Pratt. Up to and including 1962, he starred in over 120 productions in the 1950s and 1960s, especially in various television series.

Stevens suffered a hip fracture in 1977 and subsequently died as a result of pneumonia in a nursing home. He was married four times in his life. Stevens has his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6349 Hollywood Blvd.
