Operation Tariq al-Qods

Operation Tariq al - Qods was an Iranian offensive during the Iran -Iraq war.

Course

The operation was launched on November 29, 1981 and lasted more than a week. The Iranians used for the first time since the war began human waves of attack. The fighting lasted for a week and ended with heavy losses on both sides. The Iranians were able to rid the city of Bostan in Khuzestan. They succeeded to eliminate an important Iraqi supply lines. That was extremely critical, because Iraq did not have enough soldiers for a long frontline.
