Ophthalamia
Ophthalamia is founded in 1989 as Swedish black metal band from Stockholm.
Biography
In 1989, the band of Jim "All" Berger and Tony "IT" Särkkä was founded by Abruptum.
All took over the vocals at first, but was replaced in 1994 by Jon " Shadow" Nödtveidt; this in turn took over Erik "Legion " Hagstedt (temporarily Marduk singer ) the microphone, but was again replaced by All 1998. For Benny "Winter" Larsson Ole " Bone" Öhman took over from the third album the drums. Emil " Night" Nödtveidt, Jon Nödtveidts brother, took over for Robert " Mourning " Ivarsson guitar, Mikael " crap " Schelin (later of Malign ) played for the bass. Alexandra " Axa " Balogh, the ITs girlfriend was sang on the first two albums, grossed a piano outro to Via Dolorosa and anfertigte drawings for the band got signed to Necropolis Records, the planned album under the project name Rhiannon, however, never appeared.
In 1998 the band released their most recent album, Dominion, which thematically oriented to MacBeth.
On July 6, 2006 Tony Särkkä announced intention to begin a new Ophthalamia album again.
Style
Ophthalamia is the made-up of IT and All Fantasy world whose goddess is the demon Elishia; IT denotes Elishia as ophthalamischen Satan. Almost all songs tell of this world. The stories such as Castle of No Repair or The Eternal Walk were distributed in episodes over several albums, told.
