The Oppenweher bog is a peat bog in the natural area Diepholzer Moorniederung. It covers a total area of ​​around 700 hectares and is located in the northeastern part of North Rhine -Westphalia and Lower Saxony. It is one of the most important peat formations Northwest Germany and is counted among the ten most important wetland reserves in North Rhine -Westphalia. It is part of the nature park Dumber.

The Moor share in North Rhine -Westphalia is a nature reserve 215 hectares and since 1974. Most owners of the land is the district of Minden - Luebbecke who has purchased with the support of the State of North Rhine -Westphalia Land. Despite the former drainage of the bog body of a large number of endangered plant and animal species provides a livelihood. Important plants in Oppenweher Moor include the peat mosses, cotton grass and heather. It prefers wet locations and blooms in summer.

Four hiking trails run through the nature reserve and allow the visitor to rare animals and plants observed. In the information pavilion " Moorblick " the story of the Moores and interesting facts about the origin and meaning of the bog is presented. The Reserve At Oppenweher Moor is bordered to the south of the High Moor and is 275 hectares in size.
