Oracle Call Interface

The Oracle ® Call Interface (OCI ) is an API to access an Oracle database server.

The API allows reading and modifying access to the data and its structure, the database schema. The interface is designed for the C programming language and available for various operating systems. For C -based OCI extension is available with OCCI.

The design of the interface is determined solely by the manufacturer ( Oracle) and not tied to any overarching standard.
