Oracle Developer Suite

The Oracle Developer Suite was a licensed collection of development tools for database -based computer applications. It was created by Oracle Corporation. In addition to various tools are the most important components of this Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports for dialog screens for reports. The current successor of Developer Suite is the E -Business Suite.

History

In the early 1990s, Oracle had the two complementary, but completely different tools SQL * Forms and SQL * Report Writer. Both were character - based and there existed an integration between the two tools, although the two were sold individually. The development environment was created using the time more and more similar, so that they ultimately merged to Oracle IDE. Later it was renamed to Oracle Developer and then Oracle Developer/2000.

Components

In the current version of Oracle Developer Suite 10g, the suite included the following components:

• Oracle Designer ( Data Modeling )
• Oracle Software Configuration Manager
• Oracle Reports ( application development, reporting tools, creating automated reports)
• Oracle Discoverer ( end-user tool for relational OLAP queries )
• Oracle Business Intelligence Beans ( Java components for application development in the data warehouse and OLAP area)
