Orange skunk clownfish

Orange anemonefish ( Amphiprion sandaracinos )

The orange clownfish ( Amphiprion sandaracinos ) lives in the coral reefs of Indonesia, the Philippines, Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands, the northern and western New Guinea, northwest Australia, Christmas Island and the Solomon Islands. He was bred already in the aquarium.

The fish accept two symbiotic anemone species as partners.

Features

Said body and said fins are in orange. A white streak starts at the snout and runs along the base of the dorsal fin to the caudal peduncle. The dorsal fin has nine hard and 16 to 18 soft rays, the anal fin two hard and twelve soft rays. Amphiprion sandaracinos is up to 13 inches long.

He is very similar to the white-backed anemonefish ( Amphiprion akallopisos ) and differs from it by the different number of spines, the orange tail fin, which is white in the white back anemonefish and the wider on the head white vertical stripes. The teeth of the Orange anemonefish are conical, while formed by Amphiprion akallopisos than incisors. In the wild, both species can be confused only on the coasts of Java and the southeast of Sumatra, since the distribution areas overlap only there.
