Orange Sky Golden Harvest

Golden Harvest is a film production company in Hong Kong.

The company was founded in 1970 by Raymond Chow and Leonard Ho, who both worked at the time in the film production company Shaw Brothers. Other partners were the director Lo Wei, the actor Wang Yu and director Huang Feng. With their concept of support from independent producers, generous payment for the actors and greater freedom, the company has had great success. Many actors left the Shaw Brothers to work at Golden Harvest. 1971, wrote of Bruce Lee a contract with the studio. In 1973, Golden Harvest produced by Hollywood studio Warner Brothers Bruce Lee film Enter the Dragon, which was a worldwide success. The late 1970s, Golden Harvest was the dominant studio in Hong Kong and remained in this position until the 1990s. The greatest asset was the production of almost all the films of Jackie Chan, Asia's biggest martial arts star. Jet Li and Donnie Yen also were produced.

1994, the company went public. 2007 Raymond Chow sold the company to the Chinese businessman Wu Kebo, the owner of Orange Sky Entertainment Group. 2009 merged with Orange Sky Golden Harvest and has since been trading as Orange Sky Golden Harvest.

Merits

The Golden Harvest founder Raymond Chow is considered the discoverer and early supporter of Bruce Lee. Jackie Chan also owes Golden Harvest 's largest Asian successes. In addition, Golden Harvest produced the successful Cannonball Run movies and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The director John Woo began his career at Golden Harvest.
