Þórarinn Eldjárn

Þórarinn Eldjárn ( born August 22, 1949 in Reykjavík ) is an Icelandic writer.

Life

He studied Icelandic, literature and philosophy in Sweden and Iceland. Since 1975 he works as a writer and translator, is, above all, by his efforts to develop the short story in Icelandic, the best-known authors Islands. His work is great, ranging from novels and short stories to poems, anecdotes, aphorisms and children's books. His most famous work, The Blue Tower, was nominated for the 2001 IMPAC Dublin Literary Award in. 2008, the Icelandic publishing Vaka - Helgafell published his complete collection of poems, which became a bestseller immediately.

His father was Kristján Eldjárn, the third President of Iceland. The author lives in Reykjavík.
