Orbotech

Orbotech is an Israeli electronics company. It deals mainly with automatic optical inspection systems, which are used in the production of printed circuit boards, PCB assembly, the assembly and interconnection technology and the flat panel display manufacturing, in addition also with automatic card and document readers for the U.S. financial sector and with CZT ( CdZnTe ) sensors (solid-state detectors made ​​of cadmium zinc telluride ), for the use in nuclear medical imaging. History

The company was founded in 1981, since the merger with Orbot Systems Ltd.. it carries the name of Orbotech. 1996 together with the German Jenoptik has formed a joint venture Laser Imaging Systems GmbH & Co. KG. In 1997, the German engineer W. Schuh GmbH & Co. KG was acquired.

Orbotech is listed on the NASDAQ since 1984. The company now employs (2008) 1,800 employees, including more than a third of engineers and scientists. The headquarters to the research and development center and the main production are located in Yavne, next Orbotech maintains about 30 offices worldwide.
