Order of Glory (Tunisia)

The Nishan -el- Iftikhar Medal (Arabic نيشان الافتخار, DMG Nisan al - iftihar ), also Order of Glory, was a Civil and Military Merit in Tunisia.

The Order was founded by Haines In and changed in the years 1837-1855, but especially 1853-55, by the government under Ahmad I. al -Husayn often. 1855 the Order was downgraded into five classes. In this form he represented a re-enactment of the Legion of Honor dar. He was assigned to the founding of the Republic of Tunisia in 1957.

Order decoration

A zehnspitziger star with alternating green and red peaks was filled in the corners with silver rays, brill -guaranteed. In the middle LAGT on a green enameled medallion and showed the signature of the ruler Bey of Tunisia. The surrounding Reif was brilliant. About the Order was a silver loop for attaching the medal ribbon.

Ribbon and carrying method

The ribbon was green with two red stripes on the sides of the strip edge. Great cruiser wearing the Order as a sash over the right shoulder to the left hip side. An additional star, very similar to the large decoration, was fortified by the high classes on the right chest. Grand Officer only wore these additional star, but without a band. The class of commanders took the Order as neck orders and officers and knights wear it on the left chest. For the officers, the band was bound as a rosette. The decoration was smaller for the two classes and for knights no colored enamel, but only cut beads were provided.
