Order of Grimaldi
The Grimaldi Order was on November 18, 1950 by Prince Rainier III. donated by Monaco to reward the Prince and his family personally-delivered services and is awarded as a sign of respect to nationals and foreigners.
Order of classes
The order consists of five classes:
- Grand Cross
- Grand Officer
- Commander
- Officer
- Knight
Order decoration
The religious character is a white enamelled gold cross with small golden beads Leopold on the tips, which is supported by a crown. In the medallion a galloping knight can be seen with the coat of arms of the Grimaldis. All around the inscription PRINCE RAINIER GRIMALDI DE MONACO ( Rainier Grimaldi, Prince of Monaco). The rear of the year 1950 and all round PRINCIPAUTE DE MONACO ( Monaco ).
Carrying method
Worn the Grand Cross with a sash from the left shoulder to right hip as well as with a silver breast star, formed of sixteen diamonds. Grand Officers wear the chest star and a neck order, commanders just the same. Officers and knights on the strip on the left chest. When officers is also on the tape still attached to a rosette. The decoration of Knight is made of silver.
On special occasions, the Grand Cross is worn on a golden Collar of.
The ribbon is white with narrow red side stripes.
