Order of Jamaica

The Order of Jamaica is a Jamaican Order. He is the fourth highest medal of the country and can be awarded to Jamaican citizen or honorary also to foreign nationals. It was introduced in 1969 by the Jamaican Parliament with the National Honours and Awards Act.

The Order 's motto is "For a covenant of the People" ( German: "For the covenant of the people "). The members are entitled to wear the religious character and the form of address for the members is " Honourable ". Order characters

The religious character of the Order of Jamaica is a golden badge with white enamel, which is worn on a necklace of dark green silk. Outside are representations of Ackee fruit and leaves, a Jamaican national symbol. In the middle of the Jamaican national coat of arms is on a golden background, surrounded by the Order motto in golden letters on green enamel.
