Order of Merit of the Principality of Liechtenstein

The princely Liechtenstein Order of Merit was instituted on 22 July 1937 Prince Franz I of Liechtenstein and can be awarded to all those who done great service in the public service or for services in the social field to the Principality.

The reigning prince is Grand Master of the Order.

Order of classes

The Order was originally founded in first five classes and expanded on September 30, 1960 at the Grand Cross with diamonds:

  • Commander with Star
  • Commander
  • Knight

Order decoration

The golden medal sign is a blue enamelled cross with a red enamel bezel, which widen the beam to the outside and take out half round on the ends. Im also surrounded by a blue and red enamelled medallion frost the golden letter L ( Liechtenstein ). The rear of the Inititalen the founder FIL ( Francis I of Liechtenstein ). When Grand Cross with diamonds the letter on the front is designed with diamonds.

Carrying method

Born is the award to a red ribbon with two dark blue side stripes. The first three classes Gross Star, Grand Cross with diamonds and Grand Cross wear the religious character of a sash from the right shoulder to the left hip as well as with a eight-pointed golden, silver at the Grand Cross breast star. The Commander's Cross is worn around the neck and the Knight's Cross on a triangular ribbon on the left chest.
