Order of the Aztec Eagle

The Order of the Aztec Eagle (Spanish: Orden del Águila Azteca ) is the highest awarded to foreigners in Mexico Merit. He is not to be confused with the Imperial Order of the Mexican Eagle.

It was donated on December 29, 1933 by decree of President Abelardo Rodríguez Luján to honor foreigners for their services to the country Mexico or humanity and corresponds to the honor of Mexican citizens by the Condecoración Miguel Hidalgo or the Belisario Domínguez Medaglia. The Order is awarded at the suggestion of a council, which is chaired by the State President by the Cabinet of the Foreign Minister.

Order of classes

The gradations of the Order of the Aztec Eagle - who forgives no Grand Officer - are, in descending order:

  • Collane (Spanish collar ) is reserved for heads of state,
  • Grand Cross, (Spanish cruz ) is awarded Government and Prime Minister
  • Commander (Spanish banda ) is awarded ambassadors, ministers and state secretaries
  • Officer (Spanish medalla ) is awarded under secretaries and messengers
  • Ritter (Spanish placa )

Furthermore, decorations awarded (Spanish venera ) and badges (Spanish insignia ).
