Order of the Black Eagle, Albania

The Black Eagle Order was founded on 26 March 1914 by Wilhelm Prince of Albania to reward civil and military merit in five classes and medals in three levels ( gold, silver and bronze)

For military merit in war the Order with swords could be imparted, but not in the medals.

Order decoration

The religious character is star-shaped with eight points in the I. to III. Class or six in the fourth and fifth grade. The Medallion of the black double-headed eagle of the national coat of arms can be seen. All around in golden letters the inscription BESE E bashkim ( loyalty and unity ). On the back of the center from the letter W ( William ) developed two characters with the hypotenuse facing perpendicular to each other in the form below and connected by a line obtuse openwork triangles. All around also in gold letters ME 26 TE MARSIT 1914 ( March 26, 1914).

The ribbon is black with dark red border strips.

The award is not to be confused with the Kingdom of Prussia conferred by the Order of the Black Eagle.
