Order of the Liberator General San Martín

The Order del Libertador San Martín, German translation: Order of the Liberator San Martin, is the highest award of the country Argentina. It was established by Decree No. 16,628 of December 17, 1957.

It was named after the Order of General José de San Martín, the father of the nation and liberators.

The Order is especially to deserving foreign statesmen but also awarded to individuals who have rendered outstanding services to Argentina.
