Order of the Seal of Solomon

The Order of the Seal of Solomon was founded on the European model by Emperor Yohannes IV of Abyssinia in 1874 as Merit.

Order of classes

Only the Grand Cross and the " Cross of the Order of Solomon, " is known.

Order decoration

The order decoration of the Grand Cross is made of gold and represents one into the other two triangles that the Seal of Solomon characterized. In the center there is a filigree cross. Carrying method

The award of the Grand Cross was worn on a gold chain around his neck. The Cross of the Order is not around the neck.

Order clothing

As religious clothing was a red robe with gold brocade gown in use. This included a cotton shawl with woven through broad silk braid. It is referred to as " Mergef ".
