Ordinariate

The Episcopal Ordinariate in the Catholic Church, the central authority, on behalf of the local Ordinary - administered the diocese - usually this is the bishop. The word is derived from Latin episcopus ordinarius " diocesan bishop". The Ordinariate is headed by the Vicar General. Therefore it is said in many cases also Episcopal Vicar General. In canon law the term diocesan curia is used ( Can. 469 ff CIC).
